Does PrintSent replace all of our printers?

Yes. PrintSent captures the full print stream — the same data that would drive the physical printer — so the PDF includes complete logos, formatting, and layout, pixel for pixel.

How does the PDF quality compare to a scanned copy?

It's cleaner. PrintSent's PDF is generated digitally straight from the print stream, so it's crisp and pixel-perfect every time — no scanner streaks, skew, or washed-out toner. In practice it often looks better than the paper would, and far better than the print-then-scan copy most dealerships email today.

What about documents we truly need on paper?

Print them. Send them to a different printer ID in Dealertrack, or print the PDF from your portal to any printer nearby. PrintSent removes the requirement to print to paper — not the ability to print.

Does Dealertrack only work with Lexmark printers?

Accepted Answer

Lexmark network printers are what Dealertrack's supported list centers on, and what the vast majority of dealerships use for properly formatted output. A few other models work too — including some Source Technologies units used mainly for check printing, and certain HP and Brother models — but Lexmark remains the standard for full-fidelity forms. PrintSent emulates a fully compliant printer, so you get exactly the formatting Dealertrack is designed to produce.
